About [BC]2

The [BC]2 Basel Computational Biology Conference is Switzerland's main event in the domain of Computational Biology and one of the major events of its kind in Europe. The conference unites scientists from academia, industry and healthcare working in a broad range of disciplines: from deciphering spatiotemporal gene expression patterns, to modelling evolutionary dynamics or acquiring a better understanding of how genetics influence human health.

[BC]2 features inspiring keynote lectures by international experts, presentations of the latest scientific results and methods in the field, workshops and tutorials fostering hands-on capabilities, and poster sessions along with social and networking activities to refresh the mind and connect with peers in a friendly atmosphere.

Let's make data speak!

[BC]2 will host six main sessions focussing on a variety of topics such as machine learning, cancer biology and precision medicine, evolutionary dynamics, ecology, pathogens and immune systems, population genomics in human health, gene expression dynamics or single-cell approaches.

The scientific programme is now ready and we invite you to have a look at it to discover our invited and selected speakers.

The learning ecosystem of health

In the framework of [BC]2, SIB Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics - as the Swiss Node of ELIXIR - will host an ELIXIR Innovation and SME Forum entitled "Building the learning ecosystem of health: from data tracking to preventive medicine".

The Forum will explore solutions to better understand the different components of the learning ecosystem of health and preventive medicine, from technologies (hardware, software) to track data and data management (incl. access, collection, storage, sharing, reuse, as well as legal aspects thereof) to data integration, analysis (interoperability standards, methods, interpretation) and translation into preventive guidelines and healthcare measures.
