Social events and activities are an essential part of [BC]2 allowing us to bring together participants from diverse research fields and horizons. Whether you would like to continue a scientific discussion in a relaxed atmosphere, network or simply enjoy some food and drinks with your colleagues from the other side of the world - our social activities will allow for all it.

Of course, [BC]2 is committed to organise these activities in a safe way, respecting all local COVID-19 measures.




Opening lecture and welcome dinner


The Opening Lecture on Monday evening will be followed by a Welcome Dinner & party to kick off the 15th edition of the [BC]2 Basel Computational Biology Conference.

All conference participants are invited to the Welcome Dinner, which takes place at the trendy KLARA restaurant in walking distance to the congress center. International tapas (9 kitchens) prepared with local and fair trade products will be served together with music from the local Jazz Band Merest!

Part of the Welcome Dinner is gratefully financed by the Basel-City Canton.

Find the treasure!

After long hours of sitting, our treasure hunt on Tuesday will be the perfect opportunity to get to know new people while discovering Basel (and the treasure!) in a fun way.

Expect a great moment of team work and fun rewarded by a nice surprise for the three winning teams.

Celebrate at the Markthalle

As reward for everyone, the treasure hunt will end with an Apéro at the Markthalle to celebrate the three winning teams. Later in the evening, you will have the possibility to enjoy the wide diversity of food trucks from all over the world, and as well a beer and cocktail stand. And who knows, maybe you will not only find a treasure, but also your next collaboration? Let yourself be surprised!
