To promote excellence, diversity and innovation in the field of bioinformatics, in 2008 SIB created the Bioinformatics Awards to acknowledge early career bioinformaticians and ground-breaking resources of national and international standing.

The international SIB Awards honour bioinformatics excellence, diversity and innovation in three categories:

The call is open from 1 November 2022 until 31 January 2023. The awards are assigned by an international Jury. Winners of the Bioinformatics Awards are announced and will be able to present their work during a plenary session at [BC]2.
